Animated movies are loved by people of all ages, but in most cases for different reasons. If you loved Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2, you'll be happy to learn that the minions will be back on the big screen this year in June 2017 in the newly made Despicable Me 3. The same team of cast and crew come together for this popular series of movies for children, but with an adult theme as well. February 10, 2017, the Lego Batman Movie is being released, while the third movie in the Cars series will be on the big screen June 16. The Red Turtle is a PG rated, 80 minute film that comes out on January 20, with the unique feature that there isn't any dialogue. The Croods 2, which follows the Croods hit from 2013, is scheduled for release on December 22, 2017. For the My Little Pony fans, a New My Little Pony: The Movie, it's on the way for October 2017.

Nostalgia with a New Twist

There's so much to look forward to in animated movies for 2017, and that means that the Smurfs are also coming back in The Lost Village. While few people can figure out why there's only one Smurfette and 99 Smurfs, children of the 80s love taking their children to see one of their childhood favorites on screen. While the Smurfs may be better digitized in 2017, that doesn't mean Gargamel and Azriel are any better behaved in the modernized version of the Smurfs. Godzilla is also coming to the big screen in the first animated version of this classic, and a Spiderman movie is going to be animated this year.
